Well Murdoch is back in the news. If you like him or if you don't is a proper for one person or corporation to control such a large portion of the media?
A diversity of opinion is healthy but propaganda can't be justified. His actions in the UK are but a preview of corruption from too much power and no controls.

The consolidation of wealth and power by the few at the expense of the many is finally being exposed.

Those of us that have been working to rail against this for the past 30 years are starting to feel like we no longer stand alone... we have taken the offensive and put the bastards on the defensive.

The next phase will be total non-violent capitulation, or hand to hand combat in the streets.

If people didnt get their eyes open as a result of the midterms, Im sorta doubting anything will work. At least Im not holding my breath. They have most politicians in their hip pocket. Not to mention the koch brothers. Notice how quiet they all are lately?

Look for Peter King and the other repubs in Murdoch's pocket to "take charge" of any investigation, elbowing out the FBI and other congressional hearings so they can completely derail it.

"KING: It came from an overseas prison where Khaled Sheik Mohammed was being interrogated. Waterboarding was used, and it was during the interrogation of Khaled Sheik Mohammed, through waterboarding, that this information was learned." King trying to justify the illegal imprisonment and water boarding used by our government, He is a man from the religious right with no morals and an embarrassment to true Christians every where.

The FCC's power was whittled away under Dubya and gang. The FCC does not have say-so over cable stations or networks--only local outlets. Billo could appear nude on FNC and nothing will happen. But if a local station W***-TV or K***-TV airs Billo's bottom--then the locals get fined for airing it. Cablers are feeders and content providers. They are not licensed like locals.

What I found interesting was reported on the BBC about the clubby atmosphere at the vaunted Scotland Yard: "From the Home Affairs Committee's questioning of Sir Paul Stephenson, the outgoing commissioner, was that 10 members of Scotland Yard's PR and communications staff formerly worked for News International." Yikes!

It seems Murdoch owns Scotland Yard, the Prime Minister, the MPs and a political party in the US. So, hold on to your partridge and pear tree.

The politicians need to take a page from stock car racing namely their sponsors logo on their shirts. Taking money from others would then be false advertising

Only Chris Christie has enough room to pull that off, I think...

One could say his credentials speak for themselves.
"Controversy surrounded his appointment; some members of the New Jersey Bar professed disappointment at Christie's lack of criminal law experience and his history as a top fundraiser for George W. Bush's 2000 presidential campaign.[12] The extent of the role played by Bush's political adviser, Karl Rove, also became an issue after Christie's law partner, William Palatucci, a Republican political consultant and Bush supporter, boasted that he had selected a United States attorney by forwarding Christie's résumé to Rove."

"It seems Murdoch owns Scotland Yard, the Prime Minister, the MPs and a political party in the US." That is so apparent to all but those that refuse to see and support their ideology blindly. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

The more money you have, the less chance you have of being sane...

Heya KO,

Name me one politically powerful person in the USA who doesn't have money. I suppose they exist... Let me contrast it. Name me 20 politically powerful people who have money... How about 50? or 100?

Money buys power and then Caligula gets his say...

Of course on this scale I'm completely sane. I have no money or power. I'm superior because I'm poor.

It works better than the whole church thing for me. :)
